India will start new WTC cycle in 2025 with 5-Test series in England

India men's cricket team will start five-test matches from next year. The England and Wales Cricket Board revealed the schedule for the upcoming Test series when they released the home summer fixtures. 

The first Test of the series will take place at Headingley in Leeds. This series opener will follow closely after the World Test Championship 2023-25 final, which is scheduled to be held in London in June. The remaining four Tests of the series will be hosted at Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord’s in London, Old Trafford in Manchester, and The Oval in London. India women will also  play five T20Is and three ODIs at the same time in England.

1. 1st Test: June 20-24 at Headingley, Leeds
2. 2nd Test: July 2-6 at Edgbaston, Birmingham
3. 3rd Test: July 10-14 at Lord’s, London
4. 4th Test: July 23-27 at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester
5. 5th Test: July 31-August 4 at The Kia Oval, London

The upcoming 2025 Test series between England and India will be the fourth consecutive series in England to feature five matches between the two teams. This follows a recent trend where each series has included a full five-Test format, showcasing their competitive rivalry.

In their last encounter during India’s tour of England in 2021, the series ended in a 2-2 draw. The final Test, which was originally scheduled to conclude the series, was postponed to 2022 due to various disruptions. The upcoming series will continue the tradition of these intense and closely contested matches, with a full five-Test schedule planned.
